As a teen, I fell in love with the Mutant Chronicles universe and the Warzone miniature game. However, as time passed, my friends and I moved on with our lives. It wasn’t until Warzone Eternal reignited that spark in me. With a career in toy and product design, I’ve developed proficiency in art, rendering, and 3D printing skills I can now apply alongside my Mutant Chronicles imagination.
But enough about me—let’s get to the fun part. Let’s design a Warzone Eternal battle map!
Setting the Stage
A traditional Warzone Eternal battlefield measures 36” x 36”. Symmetry is key (though not Dark Symmetry), but I prefer a map that doesn’t look like a mirrored reflection of itself. Instead, I aim to create a battlefield that tells a story while maintaining balanced gameplay for both factions.
For this project, my concept is:
The Bauhaus Fuel Depot
By the end of this editorial, I’ll provide access to all downloadable 3D printing files you’ll need to make your own fuel depot map. I also encourage you to share your own builds based on this project!
This entire map wouldn’t have come to life if I hadn’t stumbled upon a tank model by Riching, inspired by Hayao Miyazaki’s Daydream Data Notes. This same design also influenced Peter Bergting’s concept for the MBT-42 Wolf Mk2 and other Bauhaus tanks in the Mutant Chronicles RPG. That very tank will serve as the centerpiece for our fuel depot.
From Concept to Reality
Where do we start? With a sketch.
This layout provides a clear direction on where to begin. I primarily sourced models from Thingiverse, an excellent platform offering free 3D designs from incredibly talented creators. I was able to match most models to the concept, adding in the Bauhaus corporate logo where applicable. All Warzone Eternal logos can be found in the Warzone Eternal 2024 October update.
Here is the list of models for the build:
- Tank
- Bunker check point
- Converted can fuel silo
- Industrial quad fuel tank
- Industrial dome fuel silo
- Fuel and shipping containers
- Pipelines

Fences
The initial fences I found didn’t print well with my MDF printer (Bambu P1S) due to the thin wire lines and the angled barbed wire top. So, I designed my own fence in Tinkercad, a free user-friendly online CAD tool.
You can download the current fence here
Bauhaus Statue
I wanted to include a statue that felt distinctly Bauhaus. I turned to Mutantpedia, an excellent resource filled with old books from the franchise. I found a design that perfectly captures the Bauhaus aesthetic. Using Tinkercad, I manipulated basic geometries until I had a functional 3D model.

Going Off Script
While browsing Thingiverse, I discovered an amazing artist ‘SnowMan77‘ who designed modular fuel silos, pipelines, and a fantastic pipeline bridge. Wouldn’t it be cool if this bridge snaked over the tank, making it a climbable feature? Let’s print it out and see how it fits into the battlefield.
How Things Are Shaping Up
With more than half of the models printed, it’s time for a preliminary layout on the battlefield. I still need to print additional fencing, replace the two stand-in shipping containers, add one more fuel tank, but the board is coming together nicely. The pipeline bridge looks especially fun. I added a few more pieces of scatter terrain around for extra cover and detail as well.

Next Steps
In my next installment, I’ll showcase the fully finished battlefield and we will discuss painting techniques for terrain.
I hope you enjoyed this article! Feel free to download the files and create your own corporate fuel depot. I’d love to see what you come up with—share your builds and let’s bring Warzone Eternal to life!
That is great! We need more battlefields made specialy for Mutant Chronicles.
Thanks! This is my current project, and I want to hurry up and finish the second half of the article. I also have enough custom terrain to make an Algeroth map, complete with a Nepharite throne atop a towering citadel, along with floating or fallen Algeroth sigils. That sounds like a good idea.
